HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I’ve been doing a count down in my head since October started for Halloween — and it is finally here! Happy Halloween dolls!

I know I haven’t blogged a lot in the past couple weeks but I wanted to do one big Halloween post and nothing non-Halloween related has seriously been going on. But I’ll try to update you all on bits and pieces that have been.

First off, if you ever start wondering why Danielle is no longer mentioned/seen on the blog its because she decided to part ways. Don’t ask me why because I seriously don’t know. As stupid as it sounds it hurts when you get crushed by someone you thought was your bestie but you also learn to move on. People come and go as they please, if they care about you they stay put in your life. End of topic.

Now, on to the fun stuff! Last weekend was Masque V by Faded Industry! Did you go? I sure did! It was too dark for my phone to take pictures in the party — but I have a couple of me before hand in my costume. I went as a raven – first year I think I really tried to “make up” a costume for once. I love this one though because I can re-use al the pieces in the future!

Sans Mask.

Last night (Sunday) I went to Hip Hop & Halloween at District 3 (south side) sponsored by Faded. I got to talk/meet a couple of the guys performing beforehand (had to buy your ticket from someone performing). They were both really cool. I had to work in the afternoon then hanged out in South Side till the event started, so sadly I didn’t get to dress up for this one.

With mask -- but I didn't actually where it to Masque (the feathers on it were too tall and didn't look right)

It kills me to say this but I gotta be honest to you all … the event started so late that I only got to see one group perform before I had to run and catch my bus. I don’t know exactly why the event had to be pushed back but it kind of upset me – makes it hard on us bus people to really have fun when things don’t start on time.

Also, I dont remember who actually performed first but they were terrible. I’m not an expert when it comes to rap music, though I talk (and unfortunately dated) people in the business, but I know enough to say these guys sucked. The music was far too loud most of the time to hear them rap, and when it wasn’t they weren’t rapping loud enough into the mics, and when they actually did it sounded like shouting and breathless babble. I like rap. I don’t like people who THINK they can rap. A+ for getting on stage but next time maybe you should actually get together before making a group and signing up for a performance.

Found on Tumblr (Click picture for Flickr album).

I equate it slightly to a conversation I had with a rapper/producer friend of mine I had recently: he said that normally girls like beats but never listen to the actual words, and that guys listen to the words but don’t really care about the beats behind it. Well for this group, I don’t think EITHER worked. And the only reason I could honestly think of why they had people liking it was because they were their friends — normally you support your friends in whatever they do, even if you don’t think they are good at it (ahem).

But what have you all been up to for Halloween? Send some pictures in! I know I didn’t do a costume contest this year but perhaps I’ll get a contest going in the future soon.

Breast Cancer “Exposed” At Mixx Lounge

Hey dolls this past Saturday was the “Expose” Breast Cancer Awareness event put on by Faded Industry — and it was probably the swankiest breast cancer awareness event I’ve been to in awhile. I knew it would be fun (it’s Faded) but I always just love the causes they are helping out too.

One of the Clique girls -- I LOVED her tutu!

Saturday’s event was in honor of Cancer Fighting Princess, a great organization that was on site selling tshirts, bracelets and other goodies. I got 2 free stickers sine I donated $5 at the door — also got a pink bracelet. It was fun!

The best part about the event was how Faded was specifically raising money for the cause. All the Clique Vodka girls created casts of their busts and then they had local artists paint them. Then the group auctioned them off to the crowd at the event. Let me tell you, these casts were seriously a work of art.

I got to hang out with the Clique girls that night too – aren’t I lucky? Also got to meet one of the new girls – she’s so nice!

What are you doing for Breast Cancer Awareness month?

FADEDfest 2011: THE VIDEO

So it is finally here – I have finally worked out the kinks to my video from the weekend. Now I’ll warn you the song wasn’t the original one (which I think fit better) but I wasn’t allowed to upload it with that song so I had to switch it on Youtube. But I think it still works.
